Director Tunks mentioned all the of the events at the parks. They have Vendor fairs, Civil Rights walks, and Family fun nights. On this weekend February 18 at Homan Square Community Center. There will be a Umoja Celebration for families with performances, storytelling and food.

Bobby Townsend voiced that Mandrack Park needs a new roof. CHA owns the building but, it is a park district facility. She also, said it needs a freezer, stove, and a security guard with a gun. “We are loosing our children.”

The Board did vote to approve to make Promontory Point a Historical Landmark. This has been 20 years in the making. The Chicago Park District needs approval to purchase vacant lots around the city to make 4 new parks and to expand 19 others.

The Board also approved large scale events that will be happening this fall and summer. Single Day events and multiple day events. The meeting was called at 12:55pm. The next meeting will be on March 15, 2023 at Fosco Park Field House.
