Park and Recreation Board

The M/WBE certification process has been brought under scrutiny over the past few meetings as the board reviews various contracts and change orders. The board requested a representative from the city to speak more on the process to get a further understanding of where it is falling short. A representative from the city reviewed the process in detail but explained that more work could be done to improve the visibility and process of the program. Board members suggested several options, like reaching out to Spanish-speaking businesses, utilizing the Black and Hispanic Chambers of Commerce and providing financial literacy resources.
