• Approved a grant application to Hennepin County’s Healthy Tree Canopy Grants for exploring the development of a Tree Preservation Ordinance.
• Approved a legislative directive to develop a work group to research, analyze, and develop goals that would reduce air pollution and other impacts that make them inappropriate in an urban environment. I- n a 4-1 vote, with Council Member Michael Rainville voting no, approved a grant application for exploring Safe Recovery Sites.
• Received two presentations related to the state and city level responses to the ongoing opioid epidemic. The Minneapolis Health Department plans to make formal recommendations prior to the Fall 2024 budget committee meetings.
