Live-tweeting is an exciting, multimedia way to share your meeting coverage with a broader social audience in real time. In this one hour training, we’ll discuss assignment preparation, how to document a meeting effectively via Twitter, and technical aspects that can literally make or break your live-tweet thread.
Join us if you want to: ⋅⋅Do more effective pre-meeting web research ⋅⋅Practice writing quickly and concisely ⋅⋅Explore social media as a platform for civic dialogue ⋅⋅Make your application(s) for assignments more versatile
Prior experience with Twitter is not necessary, though we do recommend that beginners watch our Intro to Twitter video and create a public Twitter account prior to the start of the training (come early for help with set up). You will need a laptop or mobile device for this training.
At the end of the training, you will have an opportunity to take a quiz and earn our Twitter badge. While not required, the badge indicates to us that you are familiar with our expectations for live-tweeting assignments.
If you are new to the Cleveland Documenters program, be sure to register for the Cleveland Documenters Orientation just before this training at 5pm. Attending an orientation is a requirement for working as a Cleveland Documenter.
